In 1978, David Warner left his Illinois farm community for West Virginias mountains where he has worked in forestry ever since. David is a consulting forester and sole owner of TimberLand Consulting (TLC), based in Hampshire County. Prior to forming TLC in 1989, his eight years in the forest industry and five years with the West Virginia Division of Forestry provided a background in hardwood markets and forest management, complementing his dedication to improving our forest resources. His experience and knowledge accompany his love of the outdoors and commitment to practicing good forestry.

David served on the WV Board of Registration for Foresters for five years and was President in 2003-2004. A long-standing member of the Society of American Foresters and the Association of Consulting Foresters, he is currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the WV Chapter. He is serving his fifth term as president of the Cacapon and Lost River Land Trust, protecting forest and farmland of eastern West Virginia from excessive development and fragmentation. David is also a private pilot and enjoys flying over the area for the unique perspective and simply for the fun of it. Other hobbies include canoeing, camping, and hiking. David lives with his wife and two children on their woodland in Hampshire County.

Most interesting professional project: preparing the long-range forest management and farm plan on 5,000-acres of the Capon Springs and Farms Resort, Capon Springs, West Virginia.

Most interesting non-professional jobs:

Participating in a professional exchange program in Perth, Australia as a guest of Rotary International. Flying over local rivers and lakes to determine fishing pressure and taking people flying over the area to get aerial photographs. Assisting the  Cacapon and Lost Rivers Land Trust with securing large conservation easements to permanently protect
